Country music fans and valley residents unite: vote for the town of Kimberley in the “One Horse Town” contest presented by Coors Banquet.

Country music fans and valley residents unite: vote for the town of Kimberley in the “One Horse Town” contest presented by Coors Banquet.

The contest began accepting submissions in April for the grand prize to host a country music concert featuring Dean Brody, Chad Brownlee and River Town Saints. The grand prize is valued at nearly $40,000.

After receiving more than 1,000 applications for towns with populations less than 50,000, judges decided on six different locations as their finalists with one being Kimberley BC.

“For outdoor concerts that are this big and this exciting, it brings the entire music community together as well,” Kimberley Mayor Don McCormick said on the Coors Banquet promotional video. “There is no other way to put that, it will be awesome.”

The concert by Brody, Brownlee and the River Town Saints will be accompanied by a visit from CMT who will fill a one-hour special to air on TV followed by two 30-minute specials, featuring interviews with local residents about what they love about their city.

People over the age of 19 are encouraged to continue voting for the finalists once per day until the voting period closes on July 4th. The winner of the contest will be announced on July 9th. To vote, go online to www.coorsbanquet/oht .
