Kindale in Vernon prepares for rising water

The community bands together to keep Kindale in Vernon from flooding.

Community volunteers got to work Wednesday making a sandbag barricade to keep the Kindale Seaton Centre from flooding like the two Kindale locations in Armstrong.

Pryce Landscaping donated sand and volunteers from the community, BMO, Relish Transport and Durning Direction filled sandbags and worked together to make a barrier around the Seaton Centre.

The centre, used for Kindale’s day programs, is located next to Vernon Creek, which continues to rise.
