Chilliwack RCMP are looking for a knife-wielding man who robbed a Subway restaurant last week on Yale Road near Williams Road.

Chilliwack RCMP are asking for public help finding a knife-wielding man who robbed a Subway restaurant last week on Yale Road near Williams Road.

Police said a lone male entered the store at about 4:30 p.m. May 10, produced a knife and demanded money.

“He fled the store on foot after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the employee,” RCMP Const. Tracy Wolbeck said.

“This robbery occurred during daytime hours,” she said. “We are hopeful that someone may have seen something that could assist us in our investigation.”

The same Subway outlet was robbed twice in 24 hours in January this year, and again a year earlier in January, 2010 when two men entered the store, one of them brandishing a firearm.

The suspect in the most recent robbery is described as a tall white male, 40-50 years old, weighing about 210 lbs and standing about 6 feet tall. He has grey hair and was wearing a black- or dark-blue hooded jacket, jeans and white runners. He had the jacket hood pulled up at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information about the more recent robbery is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
