A public hearing on a rezoning application on an affordable housing complex will be held by Sooke council on Jan. 9.

Knox Centre, located next to Knox Presbyterian Church on Church Road, will house moderate-income adults, families and seniors. Forty units will be built.

The project has been eight years in the making.

Knox Vision Society has applied to the district to include “apartment building” to Area A of the CD11 Knox Centre Zone, which also calls for commercial space on the main floor.

The hearing begins at 7 p.m. at District of Sooke council chambers.
