Police are looking for a 15-year-old Lake Country girl after she went missing from her home Monday afternoon.

On March 19, 2013 at 10:45 a.m, the Lake Country RCMP received a report of a missing youth in the 10500 block of Cheryl Road.

Shelsey Leys apparently left her home at about 2 pm the previous day after having an argument with her family. Shelsey suffers from autism but can communicate well and does not have a history of running away. None of Shelsey’s friends have seen her and there is nothing to indicate where else she may have gone.

Shelsey is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 5′ tall and 90 lbs with a slim build
  • Light, sandy brown hair
  • And was last seen wearing a blue jacket, skinny jeans and a light blue scarf

Shelsey left her residence on a small silver, pink and blue mountain bike.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Shelsey Leys is asked to call the Lake Country RCMP at 250-766-2288.
