A large cruise ship is back in familiar waters.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines’ Explorer of the Seas cruise ship stopped in Nanaimo on Wednesday, Sept. 19 after a stop in Seattle.

The 311-metre long cruise ship was built in 2000 and can accommodate more than 4,000 passengers. The ship will head to Victoria next before returning to Seattle.

This is the second time the Explorer of the Seas has visited Nanaimo this year. The Bahamian flagged ship stopped in Nanaimo in May and visited in 2016 and 2017, too.
