Creston and Nelson Rotary clubs are once again partnering with School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) to offer a three-day leadership camp to local high school students.
Organizer Dave Douglas said on Friday that the camp, modeled on the successful and long-running Rotary Youth Leadership Awards camp for 18-25-year-olds, will once again be held at Crawford Bay School.
“Through 15 different interactive sessions, related to helping the campers discover and build their leadership skills and offered by a variety of skilled presenters, the campers will explore such areas as critical thinking, ethics, communication, global perspectives, community service and much more,” he said.
Early registration for the Mini RYLA program, held this year from November 8-11, is a must, as only 24 participants can be accommodated.
“Registrations can be made at your school,” Douglas said. “Mini RYLA is fully sponsored by the participating club and sponsors, so there is no financial cost to the participants.”
