More than 200 people took part in Wednesday’s Remembrance Day ceremony in Grand Forks. The ceremony started with a march from the Legion hall to the Cenotaph at City Hall. The marchers gathered outside the Cenotaph and observed a moment of silence to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom. The ceremony also featured the singing of Oh Canada led by Legion vice-president Ken Gresley-Jones, bugler Deanna Hanatiw playing Reveille, reading of Flanders Fields, and the laying of the wreaths and the reading of the names on the Cenotaph. The ceremony closed with a benediction from Reverend Shenstone.
After the conclusion of the ceremony, Legion members and members of the public gathered at the Legion for sandwiches and another performance by the Grand Forks Pipe and Drum Band.
