Christy Clark has been elected leader of the Liberal party.
Clark beat out Kevin Falcon on the third count of ballots of the weighted voting system with 4,420 votes compared to 4,080 for Flacon.
In her acceptance speech, Clark said her party would,” More than anything be tuned into families as never before,” a commitment she made in her Family First platform early in her leadership campaign.
In her speech Clark alluded to the perception that the BC Liberal government was not transparent in its dealings and had lost touch with the constituency within the party and voters across the province.
“I am willing to listen, I am willing to engage,” Clark, a former Liberal MLA and deputy premier, said.
