The latest art exhibit to hit the walls of the Art Gallery of Golden belongs to Golden local Caitlyn Antaloczy.
The new exhibit, Watercolours, opens with an artist’s reception on Friday, May 24 from 5 to 7 p.m., and runs until July 2.
Antaloczy began when she was very young. With a mother as an artist, she was always drawing and painting, exploring her skills throughout the years. At 16 years old, she found her medium. Antaloczy and her mother went to a watercolour class for her birthday, and she admired how the colours burst onto the page.
Since then, she has opened up her studio, Fireweed Studio, and her art is also available to purchase through the Art Gallery of Golden or at Heather Mountain Lodge.
She has honed her skill throughout the years, painting in watercolours, depicting life in the mountains. From bustling mountain town streets, to the tops of the peaks themselves, and everything in between, Antaloczy portrays all parts of living the mountain lifestyle. Antaloczy and her family live in Golden, and get out to enjoy everything this mountainous area offers.
Antaloczy’s art is available to view online, and there are links to purchase prints of her watercolours and more, at www.fireweedstudio.com.
Check out her exhibit, Watercolours, Monday through Saturday at the Art Gallery of Golden between 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or stop by the artist’s reception on Friday, May 24 from 5 to 7 p.m.
