Quick response to a house fire on Sinclair Road on Tuesday likely saved the structure from being destroyed, Canyon-Lister fire chief Glenn Guthrie said on Tuesday.
“The call came in at 2:22 pm and when we got the scene there were flames coming from two basement windows,” Guthrie said on Thursday.
More than 20 firefighters from the Canyon-Lister and Creston fire departments responded and managed to contain the fire to the basement, although extensive smoke damage was sustained by the upper floors.
The house was occupied by six people, and everyone in the residence had exited when firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.
With another house fire in Creston yesterday, local firefighters have responded to three blazes this week.
“I’ve never experienced three structure fires in such a short period,” Guthrie said. “We have some tired people right now.”
