The South Cariboo Community Enhancement Foundation has been in its organizational stages for a while, and foundation treasurer Judy Simkins says the SCCEF is gearing up to let folks know what it’s all about.
The SCCEF is holding a logo design contest with the deadline for entries coming up quickly – July 11.
The winner of the logo contest will receive $150, and the artwork will become the property of the foundation.
Entries need to have the full names of the people submitting the logos and they need to be e-mailed to julie@centenniallaw.com.
“We’re getting things rolling and we are in the process of getting a logo, so we can set up a website. We’re hoping to get some brochures out to the public, so people know what the foundation is all about.”
The SCCEF will provide people with the opportunity to make a lasting charitable donation to enhance the community forever.
This will be done by investing in permanent endowment funds. Only the investment income will be distributed. The funds are retained to generate income for the future.
The foundation has a working partnership with the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) and the District of 100 Mile House. The CRD and the District have contributed to the foundation and a commitment has been made by the CRD to continue to contribute funds until 2020.
The SCCEF has applied for, and will be receiving, matching grants from the Northern Development Initiative Trust.
The foundation is a member of the Community Foundations of Canada and adheres to its membership criteria.
The SCCEF will be able to start providing grant funds to our local community in the near future.
