Water pressure in the 108 is extremely low and residents may see some air or dirty water, according to Cariboo Regional District Area G director Al Richmond.

“A control system failure for the Kyllo reservoir failed due to a power surge has resulted in the reservoir levels being extremely low. This has caused some residents who receive water from the Kyllo tower to have low or no water pressure.”

Crews have bypassed the automated system and are filling the tower manually, he says.

“Residents can expect to experience some dirty water as a result of the low levels due to the sediment on the bottom of the reservoir being disturbed. We expect to have sufficient levels in the tower within a couple of hours as the level in the reservoir returns to normal water pressure will return to normal. You may experience some air coming out of the taps as low water has caused air to enter the water mains. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
