Mailboxes were broken into and mail stolen from a box at the Mara Heights Road/Clancy Frontage Road junction south of Sicamous.
On April 5, Sicamous RCMP received a report of the break in that occurred sometime overnight. Police later noted 10 boxes were broken into and empty envelopes from one were later found littered on the ground near a business on Riverside Avenue in Sicamous.
Sgt. Murray McNeil said Canada posed will be replacing the older mailbox unit with a newer, more secure model.
“Affected residents will be required to pick up their mail at the post office until the new boxes are installed,” said McNeil.
