A Blind Bay man was taken by air ambulance to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops after being rescued from underneath a car outside a home on Wednesday, Jan. 7.
“Salmon Arm RCMP report that at 11 a.m. police were requested to assist BC Ambulance Service to secure a landing site for a helicopter flight. Police did so in the church parking lot on Cedar Drive,” said Staff Sgt. Kevin Keane.
Witnesses from the scene reported the man slipped on some ice while attempting to dig out his car and became trapped. A plow operator and neighbour heard his cries and came to help.
The nature of the injury was not disclosed, however, it is not considered to be life-threatening.
