Investigators are probing the gang-related death of a 28-year-old man at a Burnaby gas station.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says it’s looking into a deadly shooting at a Chevron gas station at Willingdon Avenue and Canada Way around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Investigators said Julian Johnson was found at the gas station with gunshots wounds. He was taken to hospital but later died.
Johnson is known to police and his death is considered targeted and linked to the ongoing gang conflict in the Lower Mainland.
Police said a black Nissan Rogue spotted at the scene was found burned-out later that night near 206A Street and 73B Avenue in Langley, about a 30-minute drive away.
Mounties are looking for dashcam footage from that area of Highway 1 between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and in the area of 206A Street and 73B Avenue in Langley between 9:15 p.m. and 10 p.m.
