A man known to frequent Maple Ridge is wanted by the Langley RCMP for allegedly impersonating a police officer.
An arrest warrant is out for Bryce Telford for an incident that happened on Dec. 2, 2017 after a distraught woman called police.
The woman alleged that a black Chevrolet Tahoe followed the vehicle she was a passenger in and pulled in behind them in the Brookswood area before activating what appeared to be police emergency lights in the windshield and the front grill of the Tahoe.
When the woman and her friend pulled over to the side of the road, the Tahoe pulled in front of them and attempted to block their path.
The woman soon realized the Tahoe occupant was not a real police officer, the pair sped away while the Tahoe gave chase.
They eventually pulled into a gas station parking lot and told the suspect that the police had been called. The Tahoe then left the area.
Police have identified an individual they believe to be responsible for the events of that night and charges have been laid.
The black Tahoe has since been located and seized by investigators.
In addition to Maple Ridge, Telford is also known to frequent Langley and Surrey.
