Burnaby police shut down Canada Way near Ulster Street on Saturday afternoon as they investigate a collision.
According to bystanders, a man walking was hit by an eastbound car at about 4 p.m. Saturday.
The man was reportedly taken to hospital in critical condition while the driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
