A man in his 60s is lucky to be alive after driving his vehicle off the road on Nickel Plate Road outside of Hedley and coming to a rest about 100-feet down.
Cpl. Brian Evans said the accident happened on Aug. 25.
“The male driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He had to be extricated by the Keremeos Volunteer Fire Department,” Evans said.
The Penticton man was working the area and was up on the road in his Toyota Tacoma. The vehicle has since been towed out.
Evans said the man called 911 for help and was conscience during the extrication.
He was transported to hospital with lower body injuries.
No charges are expected.
