A map from Library and Archives Canada from 1905 shows a proposed Indian reserve near Tete Jaune Cache.  Rather than set aside the reserve, the government instead decided to force the Shuswap living in the area to move to Chu Chua in 1916.

As reported in last week’s Times, members of Simpcw First Nation held an event recently to recognize the 100th anniversary of the move. Several of those taking part were descendants of those forced to move. GoogleEarth indicates that the land inside the proposed reserve appears to be unoccupied today.
