It had been on the detachment’s radar for some time.
On Dec. 19, officers from the Vernon RCMP detachment and SouthEast District emergency response team executed a search warrant in regards to a suspected grow operation in the 8100 block of Wallace Road in the BX.
“Officers conducted a search of the property and buildings and approximately 1,400 plants were located on the property in addition to more than 13 pounds of packaged marijuana,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
A stolen Yamaha WR250X motorcycle was also recovered in a large barn.
The suspects were not at home at the time the search warrant was executed.
Officers also noted that the buildings on the property had been contaminated by various chemicals used to sustain the grow operation.
In addition, officers assisted by B.C. Hydro, located a hydro bypass on the property that was the source of electricity to run this grow operation.
The file remains under police investigation.
