One woman was airlifted to hospital following a workplace accident at a business in South Surrey Tuesday morning.

The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 10 a.m.

WorkSafeBC officials say Surrey RCMP advised them of “a serious workplace incident” at a business in the 19000-block of 32 Avenue just before 11 a.m.

Surrey RCMP Cpl. Elenore Sturko told Peace Arch News that officers were dispatched to assist Emergency Health Services.

The air ambulance landed in an undeveloped lot in the 3600-block of 190 Street.

WorkSafeBC spokesperson Erica Simpson told PAN Tuesday afternoon that due to privacy issues, she “could not comment on the health status of the worker.”

“I can confirm that WorkSafeBC is responding to this incident,” Simpson said by email.
