Supporters were set to meet at the top of the mogul run and ski or ride down in his honour. This is where the national team Canadian freestyle skier spent much of his time training. The event was open to anyone who wished to pay their respects.
However, family has since requested the event be postponed until they are ready, according to Apex Mountain general manager James Shalman.
“We do have a lovely event planned in memory of Brayden Kuroda and will carry out the event when the family is ready,” Shalman said on social media.
“Thank you to all of the Brayden supporters and we look forward to sharing this event with as many of you that can attend.”
Apex Mountain will announce the new date of Kuroda’s memorial run once his family gives them notice.
Since news of Kuroda’s passing broke earlier this week an outpour of support for his family has come through social media, including a Go Fund Me page that has raised over $12,000 as of Friday.
