Panago Pizza franchises from Parksville to Mill Bay are giving free small pizzas to health care workers, firefighters, and RCMP members on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis.
Nanaimo-Ladysmith Franchise owner, Slava Govorov said that the owners of the Mid-Island Panago locations all came together to offer a free small pizza to first responders.
“We’ve been trying to bring pizza the the hospital a couple of times a week to feed the ER workers, intensive care, and the respiratory unit. I thought we should do more. During these times we needed to step up,” Govorov said.
Any first responder can redeem a free small pizza at Panago locations in Parksville, Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Duncan, and Mill Bay. First responders will be required to provide proof of their employment. The offer is valid for walk-in only.
“It’ll give more purpose to the employees working right now when they see first responders coming in so happy to get their pizza,” Govorov said.
Govorov said that Panago is offering contactless delivery options, and pick-up options as well. Only two customers are allowed in store at a time. Staffing levels have been reduced to ensure physical distancing at the restaurant.
