Minor injuries in car, semi accident near Greenwood

Road conditions were likely a factor in the Friday morning crash.

A car accident in Greenwood this morning allowed the drovers of both vehicles to walk away.

According to Cst. Denny Viktora of the Midway RCMP, the accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. Friday morning just east of Greenwood. The accident involved a car travelling westbound, which collided with a semi travelling eastbound.

“Obviously, the semi won that one,” Viktora said. Amazingly, both drivers were unscathed, Viktora said and “walked away” from the incident.

Road conditions were likely a factor in the accident, Viktora said, though the official cause has not been determined. RCMP are not recommending charges. Highway 3 was single-lane alternating traffic for about 45 minutes before completely opening.
