The District of Mission has appointed a new Manager of Communications and Public Engagement.
Taryn Hubbard joined the District in the role at the end of March.
Hubbard comes to Mission from the City of Surrey where she’s held various communications roles over the past five years, including most recently the Digital Strategist in the Corporate Marketing and Communications Division.
Over the years she’s worked on a range of communications and engagement projects including transportation planning, the civic election, the Coastal Flooding Adaptation Strategy, waste collection, and parks and recreation.
Her major project over the last year was leading the development of a new surrey.ca website with a refreshed corporate brand.
Hubbard holds a BA with distinction from Simon Fraser University in English and Communications, a certificate in journalism from Langara College, and a Provincial Instructor Diploma.
Since 2015, she’s taught part-time in the Continuing Education department at the University of the Fraser Valley.
“The District of Mission is a growing community with many incredible projects and programs on the go. I’m happy to have the opportunity to help share the stories about what makes Mission special, as well as communicate important updates to programs and services,” Hubbard said.
“I also look forward to working with the residents and stakeholders of the District of Mission, and District staff, on the upcoming public engagement processes shaping the community.”
