While it may be slow to come, there’s some good news taking off at the Comox Valley Airport beginning next month.
Pacific Coastal Airlines announced May 20 they will be resuming scheduled service June 1 to some of the destinations they serve, including Comox.
On March 19, the airline announced a temporary suspension from March 25 to May 3, which was later extended to May 31 due to COVID-19.
The airline will serve the Comox to Vancouver route, with the first available flight out of YQQ set for June 2 at 9:25 a.m., with service to YVR’s South Terminal.
Currently, the schedule is set at two flights departing and arriving in Comox on select days, but daily service has not yet resumed.

Pacific Coastal notes they will not be returning to “normal operations” as they will be offering a reduced schedule with many enhanced safety practices to ensure the health and well-being of customers, staff and communities.
In a release, the company adds it is their intention to help provide air service for essential service workers, move important goods and cargo, provide access for customers who need to travel for various medical appointment (unrelated to COVID-19) and continue to offer communities access to the essential service of air travel should they require it.
