Do you have ideas about transit in Chilliwack?
Well, now’s your chance to share them. BC Transit, the City of Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley Regional District are looking for feedback that will help direct the next 10 years of decision making.
There will be open houses in Chilliwack, Sardis, Agassiz and Hope, and an online survey is available for people who can’t attend.
This is not the first time the three groups have collected public feedback for vision planning. In 2012, the Chilliwack Transit Future Plan was completed. With many of the projects identified within the plan now complete, they are updating the plan by incorporating the public’s vision for the Chilliwack Transit System.
The input will shape the Chilliwack Transit Future Action Plan by determining transit service and infrastructure priorities.
“The plan will provide a vision and implementation strategy for improving the region’s transit network in the short to medium term,” a press release for the consultation says. “By being part of the development of the Chilliwack and Region Transit Future Action Plan, you can help improve transit for yourself and community.”
Residents and transit riders in the Chilliwack and eastern Fraser Valley are encouraged to provide their feedback at a Transit Future Open House. The online survey will be open from March 25 through April 12, at: www.bctransit.com/project-updates.
