One person was airlifted to hospital following a late afternoon crash in Maple Ridge Thursday involving a motorcycle.
The biker and a driver in another vehicle collided at the intersection of 228th Street and Abernathy Way just before 4 p.m., confirmed Ridge Meadows RCMP Staff Sgt. Adam Gander.
“At around 3:52 p.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP received a report from Emergency Health Services that they were attending a motor vehicle collision involving a black Honda Civic and a motorcycle in the area of Abernethy and 228th,” Gander said in a statement to The News. “All parties stayed at scene and were co-operative.”
The lone patient, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was transported by ground ambulance from the crash scene to an air ambulance, waiting in the nearby Harry Hooge Elementary field.
Speed and alcohol are not factors in the crash, the officer added.
