It was a weekend to remember at Silver Star as the resort hosted its first Rarearth music festival.
“It was a fantastic weekend with so many around the resort enjoying the music, hiking tours, craft and food vendors and of course the mountain biking,” said Ian Galbraith, summer business manager for the resort. “Everyone had a great time which was no surprise with the incredible weather.”
The Silver Star campground was full as guests had plenty of activities to choose from, which was one of the features that drew the festival to Silver Star.
“We want you to have a stay-cation in your own backyard – bring your family, your friends and just enjoy,” said Kath Raeber, organizer for Rarearth.
From hiking tours and horse-back trail rides to fresh pastries and cold beverages the weekend promised so much more than music and mountain-biking, and it delivered.
The Rarearth lineup appealed to a wide audience with unique performers including Delhi 2 Dublin, Brick House, Vernon artist Jodi Pederson and true to Silver Star, Australian group Mason Rack.
“It was such a great event to host as it really appealed to so many people and very family friendly,” said Galbraith.
“What an amazing way for all of us Vernonites to show off to the world (just) what we have in our own backyard,” added Raeber.
Saturday night in the Saloon went off with a bang as Space Monkey played live after the festival for the young and the young at heart.
“Overall the weekend was a great success and just another event we’re proud to have had the opportunity to host here at Silver Star,” said Galbraith.
