A multi-use trail is under construction along the east side of Back Road between McDonald Road and Sahtloot Crescent.
The project is in the second phase of construction, which extends the trail further north from the section previously built within K’omoks First Nation lands, and connects to the existing trail system along McDonald.
The trail will be built as a separated path for approximately 200 metres north from Sahtloot, then continue as a widened shoulder to McDonald.
“This trail construction will result in increased safety for pedestrians and cyclists along Back Road, and benefit all users,”
the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said in a statement.
The project is expected to be completed by April. The project budget is $750,000.
