A sandwich artist was robbed of his tips and his bike while working the late shift last week.
According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, an employee at the Subway on Bowen Road was taking out the garbage behind the building at about 12:30 a.m. Friday morning when he was confronted by a male suspect holding a piece of rebar. The suspect demanded all the victim’s money.
“The employee dug into his pockets and handed over his tip money he had earned that night. Apparently that wasn’t good enough for the thief who then decided to steal the employee’s bike,” noted the press release.
The stolen bike is an orange Mongoose with a blue water bottle holder. The suspect was described as caucasian and was wearing a black hat and a beige button-up short-sleeved shirt emblazoned with the words ‘super high.’
