Nanaimo RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance after a series of break-and-enters and thefts at Nanaimo district schools.
In a press release, Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, said École North Oyster, Georgia Avenue, École Pauline Haarer, Park Avenue, Mountain View, Departure Bay, Forest Park, Brechin, Uplands Park, École Hammond Bay, John Barsby, Woodlands and Wellington schools have been hit.
Computers, projectors and musical equipment are among the items taken, O’Brien said.
The most recent incident took place Thursday at Hammond Bay, although it is not known if anything was stolen, said O’Brien.
“Many of the break-ins have occurred late at night and have involved either a door or window being pried open,” said O’Brien. “In one break-and-enter, surveillance video captured an outline of a vehicle and in another, a bicycle but no description could be obtained.”
