Nanaimo RCMP seek information regarding 17-year-old’s whereabouts

Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 17-year-old girl who was last seen yesterday morning.

According to a press release, Mabel James-Jones, 17, left her family home Thursday morning and has not returned. Her family and friends are extremely worried for her safety and well-being.

James-Jones is indigenous, with long brown hair, and stands 4-foot-11 and weighs 120 pounds. Police say she was last seen wearing a shiny black jacket, white shirt and black boots. Extensive patrols have been conducted, with no success, says Nanaimo RCMP.

Anyone with information on James-Jones’s whereabouts is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP’s non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, quoting file number 2018-46691.
