Nanaimo RCMP arrested one man and seized illegal drugs and cash after pulling over a vehicle Thursday.
The arrest happened shortly before 4 p.m. when the Nanaimo RCMP stopped a 25-year-old man driving along Park Avenue.
Found in the man’s possession was a black safe containing about 255 grams of powder and crack cocaine, 3.6 grams of heroin and 132 OxyContin tablets.
The 25-year-old suspect was held in custody on four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and is scheduled to appear in Nanaimo provincial court Monday.
The vehicle stop led officers to the search a home in the 400 block of Renfrew Street.
One man in the residence when police arrived was detained, but later released without charge.
A bag containing an unknown chemical was found and seized.
A warrant has been requested for the arrest of a 26-year-old man associated to the residence for one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
