A man who had been living in Nanaimo and attending classes at Vancouver Island University was found dead near a residence in Calgary Tuesday.
Police confirmed the body of Joshua Hogarth, 18, of Calgary, was found outside a residence of in the 200 block of 90th Ave. S.E., in the city’s Acadia district.
An autopsy, concluded Wednesday, confirmed Hogarth died of stab wounds.
Calgary Police Service investigators have arrested a man questioned in relation to the death.
Byron Arnold Blanchard, 20, also of Calgary, was formally charged with second degree murder early Thursday morning.
Blanchard is being held in custody until his next court appearance, scheduled for Tuesday (Aug. 28).
