Police in Nanaimo are looking for a suspect who tried but failed to break into a Nanaimo seniors’ care home.
The incident happened Tuesday at about 2:30 a.m., when a male suspect tried to break in to Eden Gardens, a dementia care facility for seniors, located on Northfield Road.
According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, the suspect, who was dressed in a dark grey-green hoodie and was riding a bicycle, tried to pry open sliding glass doors at the facility. When that didn’t work, he tried slamming his body into the glass. When the doors failed to give way, he left the area. Staff called police, but the suspect was gone by the time they arrived.
Anyone with information is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP’s non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2020-15517.
