Nanoose Bay man succumbs to injuries from crash two weeks ago

According to Nanaimo RCMP, a motor vehicle collision occurred in the northbound lane of the Nanaimo Parkway at Mostar Road Oct. 5

A 35-year-old Nanoose Bay man died Oct. 19, two weeks after being involved in a fatal car accident on the Nanaimo Parkway that took the life of a 19-year-old man.

The B.C. Coroners Service confirmed the Nanoose Bay man passed away Oct. 19 in Victoria General Hospital, where he was transferred after the accident.

According to a news release issued by Nanaimo RCMP, a motor vehicle collision occurred in the northbound lane of the Nanaimo Parkway at Mostar Road Oct. 5.

A black, Suzuki Sidekick was travelling southbound on the Parkway when it crossed over into the northbound lanes, south of Mostar Road.

The Suzuki collided head-on into a white Mazda RX8 which was travelling northbound in the fast lane of the Parkway. The driver of the Mazda was pronounced deceased at the scene.
