NDP leader Singh to catch hockey game, meet locals in Penticton

NDP leader Jagmeet Singh will be in Penticton over the next few days

NDP leader Jagmeet Singh will be in Penticton over the next few days taking in a hockey game, visiting with locals and riding the KVR trail.

Singh is swinging through the area to support NDP, and South Okanagan — West Kootenay MP, Richard Cannings as he kicks off his campaign for the federal election.

Singh will be attending the Penticton Vees exhibition game against the West Kelowna Warriors tonight (Aug. 28) at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

On Thursday, Singh is joining Cannings for a bike ride to the KVR Tunnels. The duo then plan to roll into Penticton at 8:30 a.m. where they will be meeting with the public at Wayne and Freda, the coffee shop located at 105-249 Westminster Ave. W), until 9 a.m.

That evening Cannings is hosting Shindig in the Garden with Singh at Linden Gardens in Kaleden from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets for this event are $20 and can be purchased at Dragon’s Den (12 Front St.) or online at richardcannings2019.ndp.ca.
