Things have changed a lot over the years for Quesnel’s Cariboo Taxi, but the holiday season remains a busy one for the company.

Peter Poulin started Cariboo Taxi nearly 18 years ago, and says the rise of online shopping — instead of, for example, taking a taxi to Walmart — and a general shift towards more nights in and less out have led them to make lots of changes to keep things going.

But even with changes to the way people use taxis, Poulin says tonight – New Year’s Eve – will be “pretty crazy.”

He say the company had a good year last year, and they just do the best they can to keep up with demand.

Counting Poulin, Cariboo Taxi employs 12 drivers — he says they’re hoping for a good night.
