For the last time this year, Operation Red Nose volunteers will be standing by to offer safe rides home for those who may have over-indulged in the holiday spirit.
From 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31 until 3 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, about two dozen volunteers will be doing their part to raise money for local charities while keeping impaired drivers off the road by delivering residents and their vehicles home safely.
The group is stationed at Heartland Toyota in Williams Lake.

For those calling in for a ride tonight, they might even be speaking with the city’s mayor, who is working dispatch.
“It’s a lot of fun,” Walt Cobb said of volunteering for the evening. “I really enjoy it.”
When asked if he’d be able to stay up that late, Cobb laughed and said their would be lots of people around “to push me out of my chair” if he gets tired, which he doubted would happen because dispatch is a busy job on New Year’s Eve.
