Nelson Fire and Rescue had a busy night this week.
Crews were called to Svoboda Road at 6:19 p.m. on Wednesday when a truck rolled 70 metres down a bank. The driver was able to leave the truck and was transported to Kootenay Lake Hospital with no life threatening injuries, according to a Nelson Fire and Rescue release.
The truck was later hauled out.
Then at 2:44 a.m. Thursday morning fire services were called out again to a commercial building on Railway Street that was full of smoke.
A fire was discovered burning in the middle of a workshop that was quickly extinguished. “The origin of the fire is not suspicious in nature,” according to the release.
