A new connector road from Willoughby to Glover Road had a ribbon cutting on Friday, Aug. 24.

The 80th Avenue extension runs from eastern Willoughby starting at 216th Street down the slope to a new roundabout on Glover in front of Trinity Western University.

The road is largely complete but officially opens in a few weeks.

The project includes bike lanes, a separated three-metre wide multi-use pathway and sidewalks, a new signalized intersection at 216 Street and 80 Avenue, and a new roundabout at Glover Road and 80 Avenue, replacing the old signalized intersection.

Members of council were joined by representatives of McElhanney Consulting Service and B&B Constracting for the ribbon cutting.
