The board of directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa M. Iverson as the Comox Valley Family Services Association (CVFSA) executive director.

The CVFSA is a nonprofit agency that has been providing services to children, youth and families since 1974 to the Comox Valley. In the course of one year, CVFSA programs serve approximately 1,000 children, youth and families in the Comox Valley.

We’re exceptionally pleased that Lisa has taken on this leadership role,” said Karen Chrysler, board president. “Her broad knowledge of children and family issues coupled with the experience formerly working as the executive director of Upper Island Women of Ancestry Society make her well-positioned to lead us going forward. Her passion and commitment to our services coupled with her knowledge of our work will enable her to plan for the future, expand our programs, and introduce innovative approaches.”

“I am passionate about the Comox Valley community, reducing poverty, child welfare and the care and well-being of young families that are so crucial for their healthy growth,” explained Iverson. “I am so pleased to join an amazing organization that gives back so much to the community and look forward to my new role.”

Iverson succeeds Gillian Normandin CVFSA most recent executive director.

Normandin was with the association for more than 28 years and most recently as the executive director since 2010.
