New hospital info now online

Website visitors will find up-to-date news about the project as well as information on public engagement and business opportunities

Quick and easy access to information about Campbell River’s soon-to-be-built hospital is now online.

Information about the two new hospitals – here and in Courtenay – are available at North Island Hospitals Project (NIHP) website, nihp.viha.ca

Website visitors will find up-to-date news about the project as well as information on public engagement and business opportunities. The site also features information about the project’s history, design principles, concept design, building details, answers to frequently asked questions and more.

An interactive website, visitors can offer comments, ask questions, register to be notified of upcoming NIHP events and subscribe to the project newsletter.

“We encourage you to visit the site and offer your feedback through the ‘Contact Us’ link,” said Tom Sparrow, NIHP Chief Project Officer. “With your help we can continue to improve the website to make it as helpful, user-friendly and informative as possible. Connecting the clinical and non-clinical teams, our north island communities, and all stakeholders is vital to the success of this project.”

The new $334 million Comox Valley hospital will have 153-beds and will be built in Courtenay near the corner of Lerwick and Ryan roads.

The new $266 million Campbell River hospital will have 95-beds and will be built on the existing Campbell River Hospital site. The new hospitals are scheduled for completion in late 2017.
