The District of Lake Country is kindly asking artists to take their graffiti elsewhere after a new entrance sign to the district was vandalized.
“Perhaps the angry Minion artist would like to add their personal expression to the graffiti art boards that were installed in front of the Art Gallery and at Swalwell Park instead of the beautiful new welcome to #LakeCountry sign at the entrance to our community,” the district wrote in a Facebook post, and included photos of other boards where graffiti artists are welcome.
In November 2018, new entrance signs were installed along Highway 97 at opposite ends of the district. The approximate cost for them equalled $110,000.
