A new subdivision at 151 Despard Ave. in Parksville is required to complete infrastructure upgrades on Moss Avenue and a portion of McKillop Drive to facilitate the new development. According to the City of Parksville, this work is planned to start early in the new year by Knappet Industries on behalf of the owner Insight Holdings Ltd.

These works include new sanitary and storm water infrastructure on Moss Avenue and new storm drainage infrastructure at the base of McKillop Drive. This work is separate from and will complement the Moss Avenue upgrade project anticipated to be under construction in summer 2019.

During construction, traffic will be controlled in all directions for both cars and pedestrians. Expect interruptions to traffic flow and intermittent alternating single-lane usage.

Further inquiries about the project should be directed to Newcastle Engineering Limited at 250-756-9553 or info@newcastleengineering.com.

To complete the work, about seven existing street trees and a portion of the existing centre median will be removed. The planned work is separate from and will complement the Moss Avenue renewal project anticipated to be under construction in summer 2019. All inquiries related to the Moss Avenue renewal project may be directed to the city’s engineering department at Engineering@parksville.ca. — NEWS Staff/City of Parksville
