The North Okanagan-Shuswap School District didn’t go far to fill a looming vacancy.
Glenn Borthistle, the director of instruction (human resources), will take over from retiring superintendent Dave Witt Aug. 1.
“After knowing Glenn for so long, and knowing all the good things he has done for the district, we know that Glenn always has the best interest of our students at heart,” said Bobbi Johnson, chairperson.
“We’re confident Glenn will carry our district smoothly forward.”
Three candidates were interviewed Tuesday by stakeholder groups and by trustees Wednesday.
A final decision was made by trustees Wednesday.
With the promotion of Borthistle, the district will now begin a search for a new central staff member.
