Mike and Ashley Curtola have had a difficult start to beginning a life together.
The newlyweds were broken into on Monday afternoon and their beloved dog Lola is now missing.
“She means everything to us,” said Mike on Tuesday. The three year old miniature pinscher/Jack Russell mix might have been taken or is lost after the break in of their home in the 240 Street and 48 Avenue area.
Emotionally distraught, he’s been desperately putting up flyers all over his area and has called in a tracker who uses blood hounds to track scents.
Mike had gone out around 11 a.m. and returned back home at 2 p.m. to find his Rodesian ridgeback Lincoln standing across the street and his front door kicked open.
“The first thing I though was ‘my god, Lola.'” said Mike. He searched frantically for Lola.
“I just can’t think if she was stolen. She’s not a specialty dog so it might be that she is lost. But we don’t care how much it costs to get her back, we need her back.”
Lola needs medication and they are worried for her health.
On top of their dog missing, the thief or thieves also stole irreplaceable wedding jewelry that belonged to Ashley’s mother and grandmother.
Their electronics were also stolen and they aren’t sure how many wedding pictures they have lost in the process.
“Words can’t describe what we are going through right now,” said Mike.
Lola is 15 pounds, 12 inches high and is mostly brown with a tan belly. She has black lines behind her eyes, that look like eyeliner.
If you know of Lola’s whereabouts or have seen this dog contact Mike at 604-889-6745. They are offering $1,000, no questions asked for Lola’s safe return.
