Terrace resident Nicole Halbauer has announced that she will be seeking the B.C. NDP nomination for Skeena riding, which is currently held by Ellis Ross of the B.C. Liberals.
Halbauer is the current Chair of the Board of Directors at Coast Mountain College, and her key passions include education and the Contact North program, which connects students in remote and Indigenous communities to online learning opportunities.
“People here need someone who stands up for them and helps them with the challenges they’re facing—especially since the pandemic began,” Halbauer said. “John Horgan’s leadership during this time has been inspirational and I want to be part of his team to make life better for people in communities across Skeena.”
Halbauer was also one of four to seek the B.C. NDP nomination for the 2017 provincial election, but lost to Bruce Bidgood, an Associate Professor at the University of Northern British Columbia.
